Welcome to Hervé Gillet Photography, your alternative Cheshire wedding photographer.

Planning a wedding is a huge task. Knowing how special the day is going to be, selecting the right wedding photographer has to be one of the most daunting tasks. If you’ve been researching the best wedding photographers Cheshire has to offer, I’d feel privileged if you would take some time to discover what I can offer you.

My name is Hervé Gillet and I’m an experienced, award-winning wedding photographer. I have shot many weddings across an array of beautiful venues in the stunning county of Cheshire. If you have a few moments, please pause to read the real life stories from my brides and grooms on our blog, and to peruse my wedding photography galleries so that you can see for yourself how my natural style creates such an emotionally memorable wedding album.

Capturing every moment of your special day with natural style Cheshire wedding photography

Call it ‘documentary’ wedding photography, call it ‘reportage’. Whatever the official term may be, what it means is ‘natural’ photography.

If you’ve spent some time taking a look through my Cheshire wedding photography galleries, you’ll probably have noticed that the formal shots are mixed in with a host of natural, un-posed shots. These are the very pictures that bring the wedding album to life, helping you remember the day as it unfolded, and all the emotion, happiness, tears and special moments that made it so unique.

Brides and grooms are increasingly asking for natural style wedding photography. Cheshire couples find it lets them get on and enjoy their day, knowing that all the memories are being captured in the background without them having to stop and pose.

If your dream is for a wedding photo album that tells a story, rather than a set of posed pictures, that’s exactly what you’ll get from me as your chosen wedding photographer in Cheshire.

Award winning photography for your Cheshire wedding

Whatever wedding venue you’ve settled on in Cheshire, I’d be delighted to attend. Over the years, I’ve provided wedding photography Cheshire wide, shooting special days at all the top venues in this lovely county, as well as some of the more intimate and quirky ones too.

Chester Cathedral is one of my most favourite places to be appointed as wedding photographer. Cheshire’s striking focal point, the cathedral, now the mother church of the Diocese of Chester, was once the abbey church of a Benedictine monastery, and so carries with it immense history. One of my most recent assignments at Chester Cathedral was to capture Ben and Beth’s wedding. They loved the fact that they could have their entire wedding at the venue, and I was beaming because the cathedral provides such a wondrous backdrop for wedding photos. And when it came to the full group shot, I couldn’t resist the aerial angle, although it took a while to climb all those steps, as well as nerves of steel!

Thornton Manor is another spectacular venue for wedding photography in Cheshire. This Grade II* listed Elizabethan style house was built between the 19th and 10th centuries, and is nestled within wonderful parkland and gardens. Precisely why I enjoyed shooting Marissa and Daniel’s wedding so much! There are so many charming spots and backdrops within the grounds, such as the lime tree lined avenue and the timeless brickwork of the manor house itself.

I also loved being trusted as wedding photographer at Combermere Abbey in Cheshire. This is one of those venues where memories are made. Steeped in a thousand years of English history, the venue is set amidst acres of rolling parkland, walled gardens and ancient woodlands, as well as sporting spectacular Gothic architecture and an outstanding Edwardian glasshouse. Shooting Libby and Lewis’ wedding at Combermere Abbey really was a delight. It was very much an ‘outdoorsy’ wedding, with the ceremony taking place within the glasshouse, and a Pimms reception in the Fruit Maze, where guests got to enjoy ice cream from a van and a game of croquet on the lawn.

Wherever you choose to marry in Cheshire, I’ll be with you at every important step, although you’ll rarely notice me capturing those special moments in time for you to cherish forever.

Due to my widespread experience as a wedding photographer, Cheshire presents few wedding venues that I am not familiar with. With specialist knowledge of how to glean the very best out of every location, both inside and out, I can guarantee you the most superb wedding album.
