As a Cheshire wedding photographer, I will naturally know many of the most popular Cheshire wedding venues, and which have the most appealing features when it comes to creating a spectacular wedding photo album. Best Wedding Venues in Cheshire

Chester Cathedral

Chester Cathedral, the mother church of the Diocese of Chester, was once the abbey church of a Benedictine monastery, making it one of the most historic Cheshire wedding venues you’ll find.

Chester itself is an historic city, boasting the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain and the most complete city walls. The cathedral is a stunning wedding venue, perfect for those brides and grooms looking to introduce a sense of magnificence into their day. The great thing about Chester Cathedral is that you can hold your entire wedding here thanks to its hospitality and venue hire services. From the thirteenth century monk’s dining hall, perfect for your reception, to the medieval Chapter House and intriguing Nave, you’ll find all you need to keep your special day under one roof.

Thornton Manor

Thornton Manor is one of those Cheshire wedding venues that creates amazing memories. It’s a Grade II listed Elizabethan style house that was constructed between the 19th and 20th centuries and sits within spectacular parkland and gardens.

Around the grounds there are many picturesque hideaways and beautiful settings that make the ideal backdrop for a wedding album. The lime tree lined avenue is one such example.

Thornton Manor incorporates four different venues, each nestled in their very own haven of the extensive estate. Choose from the Manor House, the Lakeside Marquee, the Dell Pavilion and the Walled Garden Marquee, all just as charming as each other and perfect if you’re looking for outdoor wedding venues Cheshire wide, and outstanding photography.

Combermere Abbey

One of the best wedding venues in Cheshire has to be Combermere Abbey. This is one of my favourite places as a wedding photographer because the grounds are absolutely wonderful. Rolling parkland, ancient woodlands, captivating waters and walled gardens all make for the loveliest photos. The abbey itself displays enchanting Gothic architecture which makes such a wonderful, arty backdrop.

For couples, Combermere Abbey is an all-in venue, allowing you to hold your entire day in one place. From private, tranquil ceremonies in the Edwardian Glasshouse, to reception dining in the elegant Pavilion, and with plenty of accommodation for you and your guests, everything you need is right there for you.

Here’s how Libby and Lewis’ wedding at Combermere Abbey took shape as we all enjoyed a superb day in the sunshine and created some truly memorable wedding photographs of this special day.

Peover Wedding Venue

The Oak Tree of Peover is one of the nicest small wedding venues Cheshire has to offer. If you are looking to make the most of the Cheshire countryside and incorporate it into your wedding photography, then this could well be the venue that ticks all the boxes.

Of all the barn wedding venues Cheshire wide, the Oak Tree of Peover has to rank amongst the best. This is a rustic, oak framed property surrounded by wonderful countryside views punctuated by bright, natural light throughout the day which delivers amazing photographs. And then by night, the lighting turns more atmospheric, for magical shots that really do bring your wedding photo album to life.

Here’s how Helen and Paul’s wedding at the Oak Tree of Peover became one of the most memorable days I’ve had the pleasure to shoot.

Merrydale Manor

If you are looking for an exclusive-use wedding venue, where it’s just you and your wedding party for the day, then Merrydale Manor could prove to be your perfect choice.

Here’s where you can host your ceremony, wedding reception and evening celebration all in one location, and accommodate your guests as well.

At Merrydale Manor, one of our favourite luxury wedding venues in Cheshire, you can get married in an idyllic rural setting, with exclusive use of the grounds so that as we are capturing your wedding photos, it is literally just you.

Here’s how Grace and Stephen’s day at the luxurious Merrydale Manor took shape and made the most of the wonderful surrounding scenery.

Other Cheshire wedding venues

There are many other Cheshire wedding venues that top my list when it comes to creating the most memorable wedding photo album.

The Pryors Hayes Golf Club for example is a stunning wedding venue set in the heart of the spectacular Cheshire countryside. It’s where I shot Emma and Thomas’ special day.

The Abbeywood Estate is another favourite venue. This is a 45 acre property, nestled in the heart of the Delamere countryside. This is where I was official photographer for Vicki and Danny’s wedding.

Finally, another Cheshire wedding venue that I particularly like from a photography point of view is the Hillbark Hotel. If you are looking at hotel wedding venues Cheshire wide, I’d recommend this 5-star luxury country house hotel set in gorgeous parkland and overlooking the Dee estuary. Take a look at Lucy and Duncan’s special day at the Hillbark Hotel to see how amazing the scenery really is.
