Same Sex Wedding Marriage

Congratulations to Amy and Fara, who were wed at the West Tower in a festive winter wedding. A romantic hideaway in the Lancashire countryside, it was originally built as a home away from home in 1885, it has a truly welcoming, cosy feel of a home away from home – perfect for bringing families together. I hope you enjoy my Same Sex Wedding Photography.

Natural Photography

Hair and makeup took place at a hotel in Aintree race course, and the brides put on their dresses at the Bridal suite in the West Tower. Rather than two white dresses, each bride wore identical style dresses but one was black.

The ceremony was held in the ballroom the brides walked down the aisle hand in hand, already united. There’s something particularly special about attending same sex marriage – there’s a real sense of achievement and everybody is even more grateful to be there. You’ll notice even the wedding party were dressed exclusively in black and white – check out the cool androgynous choice!

I took the couple for a walk around the grounds. One of my favourite shots of Same Sex Wedding Photography making use of the natural light, is of the couple posed as if in a mirror image of each other, overlooking stunning views of the fields beyond.

Singing Waiters and Good Party

The tables were dressed with flowers by Tamzyn Angela . Wedding guests awaited the newlyweds with drinks in the stunning Ballroom. In keeping with the theme, at the girls’ entry I opted for black and white photography.

As guests dined they were surprised by a pair of singing waiters Marcus and Nathan, disguised as waiting staff. After a few comedy errors to arouse suspicion, they broke into song and shocked guests. Unable to wait til after dinner, guests got up for a boogie and a singalong- as you can tell by the photos, they were just as enthusiastic as the professionals! I do not pose wedding guests, and you can see how effectively real moments photograph.

It was great to see my old acquaintance, wedding DJ Steve Mitchell getting everybody dancing at the evening party. Guests were provided with props for some fun photo opportunities and to inject a pop of colour into the day – I particularly like the ‘I came for the cake’ sign!

A huge thank you to Amy and Fara for allowing me to document their special day. I hope you enjoy my selection of Same Sex Wedding Photography and if you are looking for someone to document your wedding, please don’t hesitate to get in touch
