The Perfect wedding Venue

June 2017 marked the wedding of Claire and Mark, which fell on a beautiful spring morning.

Although my portfolio contains plenty of Peckforton Castle wedding photography, I’m still in awe whenever I pass through the magnificent gatehouse and sweep up the long drive. Based in the heart of Cheshire, this fairytale venue plays as big a part in any wedding as the nuptials themselves.

Bridal preparations were to take place inside the Castle. Whilst Claire was joined by her mother, sister and bridesmaids, Mark spruced himself up only a few rooms away with his brother (the best man), father and usher.

Wedding Ceremony at Peckforton Castle

Then it was on to the wedding ceremony in the Great Hall, which is every bit as dramatic as the venue’s exterior. There is an abundance of backdrops available for a Peckforton Castle wedding photographer; the sun streaming through stained glass windows and candlelight reflecting off the original Minton Hollins tiled floor are particularly memorable. A contemporary but no less impressive addition to the décor were the flower arrangements.

After the nuptials, guests were free to enjoy the drinks reception and canapés in the Castle grounds. Taking advantage of the ideal weather, I incorporated the Castle’s external architecture into group shots.

Whilst both sides of the family mingled, the newlyweds took a short walk around the grounds so I could capture some more intimate images (not that kind, you filthy buggers!).

Singing Waiters and Saxophonist

Over at the wedding breakfast, guests were delighted by two singing waiters. In case you haven’t been to a wedding lately, this involves two disguised waiters blowing their cover through a series of mishaps before bursting into song. If guests weren’t ravenous before, that dancing certainly worked up an appetite!
Along with imaginative lighting and an illuminated dance floor, the evening party was set to be truly enchanting. The first dance was followed by a saxist, to further set the mood.
Thank you to Claire and Mark for entrusting me to capture your special day. I hope married life is treating you well.

The Wedding Industry First Award

Claire and Mark, I am delighted with your review you took the time to write for The Wedding Industry Award

” Honestly I can not put into words how great this man is at his job! From start to finish he was amazing and always reachable if I had any questions prior to our wedding. And while he gave direction when needed I felt in control and made a list of all the pics I wanted. All of the wedding party commented on how well he fitted into the wedding and there was no intrusion at all at time we hardly knew he was there. The pictures really are amazing too. He was an absolute joy to have at our wedding!!!

If you enjoyed my Peckforton Castle wedding photography, please get in touch. to check whether I’m available for your wedding.

My style of photography is totally unobtrusive and relaxed. I don’t believe that weddings should be about the photographer, but about friends and families coming together to celebrate your wedding day. Thank you to Melvyn for his role as second shooter.
